ICAN's Code of Conduct for VIKOGA Students

(1) Love and respect your elders, parents, family, friends AND yourself at all times. Express your love and respect in your behaviour as much as possible.

(2) Define what is positive. Then think positive and shun negative thoughts rigorously and vigorously at all times. Avoid criticising anyone. If you have nothing good to say about any other martial art, it is best to keep quiet. Be discreet and tactful in your assessment of others.

(3) Choose your friends, books, music, reading material, games, TV programs, sports and activities very wisely. Seek your Company among the diligent and avoid the idle and lethargic. Review them often and change them accordingly. Avoid being influenced by advertisements, gossips and peer pressure. Be your own person. Dare to say no to anything you can't proudly admit to your loved ones.

(4) Cultivate healthy habits - sleep early, eat correctly and on time, be clean, be tidy, be organised, be punctual and be courteous. Abstain from drug experimentation and abuse. Don't do anything to harm your body. You don't have to be bad to be cool.

(5) Have at least one goal in life that you can feel great about. Work towards your goal(s) diligently and enjoyably. If you are a student, enjoy your studies. Enjoy as much as possible things you have to do.

(6) Have at least a few people in your life that you can trust equally, rely on and confide in without fear or favour. Choose very carefully. Stay in close touch with them on a regular basis. Make it easy for you to contact them at any time.

(7) Be grateful for what you have and always be thankful to anyone who serves you sincerely. Do not take for granted the things done for you by your family and friends. Acknowledge your gratitude always. Learn to remind yourself the blessings in your life.

(8) Avoid any waste - of time, energy, money and resources. Be frugal and discreet in using everything. Learn to respect things that don't belong to you, or you share with share with others.
