FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ?(FAQs) Q. Do we have to have a minimum number of people on the trip. A. No we can accommodate any sized group from 1 - 62. The prices are based on a minimum of 38 people on the coach. It would be very unusual if we did not have a full coach. To have a coach exclusively for your group you would need the 38. Less than this would affect the price. Q. Is there a minimum age for children you will take (I guess I also want to think about that too - how many screaming babies do we want on the bus!)
A. I have never had any
really young ones on the trips. Probably the youngest to date would have been
about 7 or 8. Of course they had a ball.
It is a tough one because it is a long
trip for the little ones if they can't sleep. And as you can imagine most of
the group will probably not be parents and may not be as understanding about a
screaming baby.
There is a crèche for 6 weeks - 3 yrs at
$ 77/day includes lunch & activities or $18/hr. and kindly ski class for
the toddlers 3-6 yrs. at $87/day includes lessons & lunch. They would have
to be paid for directly on the day. Let me know if you need more detail. We
would need to know the age, whether they want ski lessons or just child
minding etc. Naturally for weekends we would need to book in advance.
They would have to add these costs to the
Pedestrian Whirl prices.
Q.
When do I have to let you know which packages by?
A. We need full payment 1 month prior to the trip. Everything is pre paid and pre booked. This means on the weekend the only thing you have to pay for is your lunch and drinks or other personal items. Q. If I get sick or cannot go can I get my money back? A. We try to help out as best we can. If your place is taken by someone else, in other words we end up with a full coach i.e. 38 people we generally would give you a refund.
Q.
I was wondering if we can hire the ski gloves (they are not on the Hire Form).
A. Gloves cannot be
hired but the ski hire shop does sell a range of items including gloves,
hats sunglasses, scarves etc.
Q. Which
coach company will be traveling with?
A. The coach company is Challenge Travel. It is a family owned business. We have used them for many years now and although we have occasionally used other companies on we generally stick to Challenge. The drivers have passed a snow drivers training course and have always been very helpful and friendly. Q. How are the rooms arranged?
A. The rooms are four share or six share. I usually ask the group organizers to put their people into the rooms. If a group of friends want to share it is just a matter of letting us know they are traveling together
Q. Where do we eat and at what time on the way down on Friday night?
A. We should get to Rydges Resort at Eagle Hawk Hill by 9pm. This is the menu Pasta Buffet Carbonara Pasta Lasagne (Meat or Vegetarian) Meat Pies Fries Chef's Selection of Salads Bakers Basket of Fresh Bread Soft drinks
Alcoholic drinks can be bought at the bar.
Q. I
notice Friday and Saturday night dinner is included. What about Sunday night?
A. No Sunday night's dinner is not included. Sunday night dinner is usually a quick comfort stop at one of the truck stops depending on timing. McDonalds Goulburn or BP Marulan are quick and convenient. Where and when we stop depends a lot on what time we leave the snow. Q. Where will we be skiing? A. Your ticket is valid for Perisher Blue resort which includes Perisher, Blue Cow and Smiggins. It is also valid for the Ski Tube between Perisher and Blue Cow. Q. Where will I be having my lessons? A. I try to get the beginner's lessons at Blue Cow. This is subject to availability. I believe the best beginner's area in NSW is at Blue Cow. The experienced skiers lessons are generally at Perisher.
Q. Will
we be using the Ski Tube?
A. Your lift ticket includes travel between Perisher - Blue Cow - Perisher on the Ski Tube. We do not go to Bullock's Flat. The coach takes us right to Perisher Terminal. Q. Where can I go as a Beginner? A. The Beginners tickets restrict the lifts you can use to the beginners slopes which are Front Valley at Perisher, Smiggins or Pleasant Valley at Blue Cow. Q. What is the Progressive Whirl? A. The Progressive Whirl has the same restrictions as the Beginner's on Saturday but allows unrestricted access on Sunday. I recommend this for anyone who has maybe skied a little bit or someone who is very sporty and expects they would want to go on the rest of the mountain on Sunday. |
