FRANK

Hi there all you mud ducks,I'm Frank the original 121 from Sydney located about 25km  south of the city center in a place called Menai, Its a small hilly green area and even though  i'm high above sea level i'm stuck in a gully with a bush outlook which makes it difficult to  get a N\E signal into Stateside/Hawaii as i have to aim my yagi into a steep hill so i usually  have a chat with my friends over in Europe and where ever else i can get skip conditions coming  in from. I also am usually mobile mobile up&down the east coast of Australia in my car spending  lots of time visiting my mate George 96 Grafton only 8 or so hours away  640km north of my home base being very active  picking up heaps of  local and O/S dx on the way with my 9ft s/s whip Uniden 640E radio.

At my home base i have a self supporting wind up tower which i designed and built myself so my antennas can be set at 12ft high so i can easily work on them and then i can extend them on the tower to over 50ft high. The internal pole extends 7ft underground so when i wind it up i can get the extra hight by lifting the duel telescopic poles out of there heavy footings in the ground.

Some of the running gear i use at the moment is a Kenwood TS850s transceiver with a Silver k Eagle microphone also a station master 1/2 wave vertical antenna and a experimental yagi which can be 3-7 elements and/or a 15-35ft boom at the moment its a 5ele 16ft boom yagi  with duel drive which works just fine,I am always trying to find the optimum settings to suit my conditions.

I'm also a happy member of ROMEO BRAVO DX GROUP and SUGAR DELTA RADIO GROUP and i hope to catch you on the dx in the future.
