AVCAT Structure
AVCAT is a public company limited by guarantee. Its members are the principal Australian ex-service organizations. AVCAT is located in NSW. As such it is required to meet the requirements of federal, state and other law on such matters as privacy and fund raising. It is directed by a Board of honorary directors. See Directors. There is small, part-time Staff assisted by volunteers. Our offices are in Sydney.

The Trust is also a not for profit, income tax exempt charity. It is in essence a small business, operating nationally, with an annual gross turnover of currently, about $900,000 year. It is an employer, albeit be it small, of a staff of fluctuating size of permanent and casual employees. For more detail see Financial Overview and the answer to Donors' Questions.

The Trust uses a small band of volunteers, some in every state. As the members of AVCAT are the ex-service organisations, there is no personal membership roll to call up when volunteer help is sought. For this reason we seek from time to time help from Volunteers Australia.
