Privacy and Our Supporters
AVCAT understands that giving to an organisation is a very personal decision. We never rent, sell, lend, or give away personal information collected from any of our activities including appeal letters, telephone or web-site. We only collect personal information that is necessary for our work and payment of donations.
How We Use Your Personal Information
The information we collect is used to:
- process donations
- issue receipts
- respond to your comments or Questions
- provide follow up information about AVCAT's work
- provide selected information about applicants and recipients, agreed in writing in advance by them, to their schemes sponsors.
- seek your ongoing support
- research supporter attitudes, or
- for internal reporting purposes.
Supporters can also choose to remain anonymous as far as those recipients who benefit from their generosity are concerned. Names are required if your contribution is to be claimed as a tax deduction contributions.
Disclosure
We do not pass on supporters' names or personal information to any other third parties (unless required by law), or publish them in our publications or on our web-site without explicit donor permission (unless required by law).
Protection of Personal Information
AVCAT also actively seeks to ensure that all personal information we collect is protected from misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Records and Information Management
If you have made a donation to AVCAT and have received a receipt for taxation purposes, by law we must keep a record of your details for seven years.
If you wish to make a complaint about the handling of your personal information, you should call the AVCAT Privacy Officer, Anne West on 02 9281 7077 7222 or email her at vvt@accsoft.com.au. The Board of AVCAT has directed that all such complaints are fully investigated and corrective action taken if necessary.
